A day trip around the valley, which is rich in Cultural Heritage, consisting of seven sights listed in World Heritage List.
A long drive (approximately 8 hrs) on a narrow and rough road but through the beautiful green valleys gets you to a small town situated at the side of the Trishuli River. On the way one passes through many beautiful small villages such as Trishuli Bazaar and Dhunche, where one can observe the customs of the people in this area. On the way, we enter the Langtang National Park, where our trekking permits will be checked.
A relatively flat trail following Langtang Khola through the beautiful rhododendron forest for 2.30 hrs, leads you to Bamboo Lodge. From there, it's 2 hrs uphill through nice forest, leading you to Lama Hotel. Lama Hotel consists of some nice lodges and a few houses surrounded by the beautiful green forest, where one can observe some wildlife (especially monkeys).
We keep on following the Langtang Khola and the beautiful green forest. The climb through green forest is full of joy and one can have the first sight of Mt. Langtang II. On the way we pass through couple of rest houses. Just after Ghoratabela (a village at 2.30 hrs walk from Lama Hotel), there is a national park check post where your permits will be checked. From Ghoratabela the green scenery starts disappearing and disappears completely by the time you arrive to Langtang Village, after 5 hrs walking from Lama Hotel. Langtang is a beautiful Tamang Village, where one can notice the influence of Tibetan culture in the life. One can see Mt. Ganchhepo (6387m) and Tsergo Ri (4984m) from there.
It is a 3 hrs walk on a relatively easy grassy trail along Langtang Khola to reach Kyanjin Gompa. A settlement surrounded by the big snow mountains, Kyanjin Ri is right on the north of the village. One can see Mt. Langtang Lirung (7245m), Mt. Khimjung, Mt. Ganchhepo (6387m), and Mt. Naya Kang, from the village.
The valley extends to the east and in the end to the north to Langshisha Kharka, which is the meeting point of 3 glaciers. The Mountains are very close and the trail is relatively flat as Langshisha Kharka (4100m) is on a 4 hrs distance.
On 1hr flat trail and 2.30 hrs hard climb, there is Tsergo Ri (4984m). A magnificent 360 degree panorama including Shishapangma (8012m) of Tibet compensates the hard climb that has been done. Yala Peak is right on the north and one can have a look at the Langtang Valley that he/she has been walking through. Afterwards, it's approximately 2.30 hrs to Kyanjin Gompa.
You'll begin your descent from Kyanjin Gompa back towards Lama Hotel. Retracing your steps through Langtang Village, you'll be treated to the familiar yet ever-changing landscapes, descending amidst the beauty of the region. As you make your way down, take in the stunning views and enjoy the ease of the downhill trek. Eventually, you'll arrive at Lama Hotel, where you'll spend the night, reminiscing on the incredible journey you've had so far.
